Experience
In my teaching and tutoring experience, I work hard to help students find math an easier subject to learn and excel in. It is important students can make sense of the logic in order to understand the concepts and succeed in this often feared and loathed topic. My tutoring philosophy includes various methods. I use dialog and manipulatives to foster a concrete understanding of topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, and differential equations and finite mathematics. I teach math from the middle school level up to AP Calculus BC and graduate level statistics.I received a B.S. in Mathematics in 1994, from Loyola Marymount University. My teaching career launched right after graduation and I have since taught all levels of high school math. I also attended California State University - Northridge. My teaching skills have been growing for some time and that makes me very competent in accomplishing my goals with each student. Now living in Vancouver, Washington, I have many interests outside of school, including playing both guitar and piano. I am also into golf and enjoy playing the occasional round. A volleyball official as well, I often play at local indoor and outdoor courts on the weekends.
